A Biogas Technology workshop entitled “Design, Build, and Operate Biogas Plants” was organized from 14 to 17 September 2020 in collaboration between Faculty of Agriculture at JUST, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and Royal Scientific Society/National Energy Research Center. The workshop targeted 25 participants from various international and local organizations, university students, government employees, and fresh engineering graduates. This training falls within the activities of the biogas pilot project funded by the European Union implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) and aims for improving rural livelihoods and the environment through the integral utilization of residues of treated wastewater and organic solid waste for the production of renewable energy and compost in Mafraq Governorate of Jordan. The objective of the training was to build the capacity of twenty-five participants related to biogas technology, and to gain the needed knowledge and technical skills that ensure the successful implementation of the bio-energy projects. The training event was very important in educating agriculture specialist and other engineers about the importance of biogas technology as one of the energy production sources. The training included numbers of topics designed to cover theoretical lectures, examples, and exercises to provide skills, exchange and share technical knowledge.
