Course Description

Forage plant development, population dynamics and growth behavior patterns; applications of ecological and physiological principles of forage management; principles and practices of forage crops investigations.

GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES:

To learn the fundamental principles and facts about forage crops as agricultural resources in terms of there:

  • Nutritional value as livestock feed. 
  • Utilization including harvesting and preservation,
  • Growth and development,
  • Maintenance of production.
  • Establishment, and  integration of these topics to provide   understanding  of how sustained  yields of high quality forage is attained.

WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN FROM THIS COURSE:

Acquire a basis for appreciation and wise utilization of forage crops as biological and ecological resources for the benefit of humans and the protection of the environment.
