
The Department of Nutrition and Animal Production was initially established in 1990. In 1996, it was officially divided into two separate departments: The Department of Nutrition and Food Technology and the Department of Animal Production.
The Department of Nutrition and Food Technology offers a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Technology, as well as Master's degrees in Nutrition and Food Technology. The graduate program was launched in 2003.

The department is equipped with several specialized teaching and research laboratories focused on food analysis, in addition to a dairy product plant used for both instructional and research purposes. Practical training spans a wide range of areas, including clinical nutrition, food service management, food chemistry and food processing, thermal preservation, food microbiology, and food quality control.
