The Scientific Association of Arab Veterinary Medicine Faculties held its 17th annual meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Amman, on the sidelines of the International Conference on One Health and Veterinary Innovations. The meeting was chaired by the Association’s Secretary-General, Prof. Dr. Maysar Omar Al-Akkash, and attended by a number of deans and representatives from Arab veterinary medicine faculties.

The meeting was attended by deans of veterinary medicine faculties from Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Libya, and the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Al-Akash emphasized that this gathering reflects the deans' shared commitment to advancing the veterinary profession, enhancing the quality of education and research, and addressing health, agricultural, and environmental challenges that require coordinated, joint effort from all parties.

Dr. Al-Akash emphasized that the meeting builds upon the achievements of previous sessions and follows up on the recommendations of the Association and its committees regarding academic accreditation, curriculum development, student and academic exchange, the scientific journal, and the Association’s scientific conference. She stressed the importance of moving beyond the mere exchange of ideas toward the implementation of joint programs and projects that are both actionable and subject to monitoring.
