A research project from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at "Science and Technology" wins first place in the King Hussein Fund Award for Graduation Projects
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Jordan University of Science and Technology achieved a distinguished academic accomplishment by winning first place in the field of agriculture and food security within the King Hussein Fund Award for Graduation Projects in Jordanian Universities, through a research project by its students.
The win came for a research project entitled “Evaluating the role of embryonic thermal manipulation in the gut microbiome and small intestine integrity during the post-hatching challenge with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)”, by student Saif Fayez Hassan Hindam, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Muhammad Burhan Al-Zaghoul, and with the participation of student Rahma Muhammad Al-Dahadha.
The project is one of the advanced research studies that addresses the effect of heat treatments during the embryonic development stage on the digestive health of poultry, and their role in promoting intestinal health and improving the response to health challenges that birds may face after hatching, thus contributing to supporting animal production and achieving food security.
Professor Dr. Mohammed Burhan Al-Zaghoul affirmed that this achievement reflects the high level of scientific and research excellence possessed by the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and their ability to conduct high-quality research projects that address issues of scientific and practical importance in the livestock sector. He added that the research represents a model of integration between academic knowledge and practical application, and contributes to developing innovative solutions that support the sustainability and efficiency of livestock production.
This victory confirms the leading role played by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Jordan University of Science and Technology in supporting scientific research and encouraging students to innovate and be creative, which enhances the university’s presence and excellence in local academic and research forums.
