Opening of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital

Under the patronage of Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, the Veterinary Hospital was opened today, Tuesday, 3/5/2024, in the presence of the representative of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, as a representative of the party funding the project, and in the presence of Professor Dr. President of the University, Vice President of the University, and Dean of the faculty of Medicine. Veterinarian and Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Maysar Al-Akash stressed the importance of this hospital, as this project was established in line with the Hashemite vision of developing all service sectors in order to keep pace with global development in the field of veterinary medicine and raise the efficiency of education in accordance with international standards, which is reflected in the quality of the graduate veterinarian.

The hospital consists of main service departments: surgical and internal medicine departments for small animals, horses, and food-producing animals. There is also a pathological anatomy department, a diagnostic laboratory department, and an isolation department.

These sections are supported:-

1. Wings to house animals in each section according to the type of animal

2. Diagnostic laboratories for laboratory tests, x-rays, ultrasound, endoscope, and other devices that keep pace with the latest technological developments.

The hospital has a special and unique educational department in the region called the Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratory, which is equipped with the latest educational tools.

Services at the hospital are provided by professional staff specialized in different types of animals and technicians trained in all the equipment used.

The hospital provides educational services to support the faculty of Veterinary Medicine in applied aspects and is an incubator for continuing education for veterinarians in the field, in addition to community service in terms of providing support in diagnosis and treatment to livestock owners for different animal species, in addition to supporting the health sectors and community health to activate the concept of one health and all of the above. Previously, it will contribute to increasing community awareness of the importance of the veterinary profession in various aspects of animal care and protecting society from common diseases.​​​​
