Faculty of Veterinary Medicine — Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST)
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) is a pioneering institution dedicated to excellence in veterinary education, scientific research, and community service. Our vision is to become an internationally recognized center for advancing both animal and human health. Our mission is to graduate competent veterinarians through innovative education, advanced research, and hands-on clinical training.
We attract outstanding students from Jordan and neighboring countries, offering a modern curriculum enhanced by advanced educational technologies, a state-of-the-art clinical skills laboratory, and a distinguished faculty—many of whom are graduates of prestigious American and European universities.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture was established in 1985 and became an independent unit in 1990. It remains the only veterinary faculty in Jordan, playing a vital role in improving animal health and boosting livestock production across the country. The first cohort of undergraduate students was admitted in 1989 and graduated in 1994 after completing the five-year program. The first master's program cohort was admitted in 1996, followed by the addition of a one-year Clinical Diploma program in 2001.
The faculty is composed of three academic departments:
- Department of Basic Veterinary Medical Sciences
- Department of Clinical Veterinary Medical Sciences
- Department of Pathology and Public Health
These departments are supported by well-equipped research laboratories that serve various veterinary disciplines.
Among our most notable achievements is the establishment of the new Veterinary Teaching Hospital, which greatly enhances our teaching and service capabilities. The hospital features specialized units for small animals, equines, and food-producing animals, in addition to advanced diagnostic laboratories, modern surgical theaters, and a cutting-edge simulation lab for clinical skills training.
Beyond education and clinical services, the faculty is deeply engaged in research, animal welfare initiatives, and public health outreach. We collaborate closely with governmental and private sectors, as well as international organizations. The faculty is a founding and active member of the Arab Association of Veterinary Faculties, and serves as its official headquarters.
Additionally, the faculty maintains numerous partnerships and scientific agreements with veterinary faculties, private institutions, and global scientific organizations around the world.
Through continuous development, community engagement, and a strong commitment to innovation, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at JUST remains at the forefront of veterinary science and education in the region.
