This department offers courses in animal health and pathology to both undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty members are engaged in teaching and research covering herd health and production, as well as various aspects of animal public health, including food safety.
The department's course offerings include Animal Policy, Animal Husbandry and Genetics, Poultry Management, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Pathology, Clinical Veterinary Pathology, Poultry Diseases, Dairy Safety, Meat Safety, Toxicology and Forensic Medicine, Epidemiology and Herd Health, Fisheries Science, and Laboratory Animal Management and Diseases.
Additionally, the department provides animal health-related courses to students from other disciplines across the university.
