Expected Outcomes Upon Completion of the Department's Courses
Upon successful completion of the courses offered by this department, graduates of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery programs will achieve the following outcomes:
Knowledge
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of core veterinary medicine principles, including zoonotic diseases, endemic and locally prevalent conditions, and key animal health challenges specific to Jordan and the Middle East.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of normal animal physiology, disease pathogenesis, and diagnostic techniques for both infectious and non-infectious conditions.
Understand and apply veterinary ethics, legal frameworks, and professional regulations in Jordan, including animal welfare legislation and standards of modern veterinary practice.
Skills
Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostic assessments, and therapeutic interventions across a broad range of animal species.
Skillfully carry out both routine and advanced diagnostic procedures using state-of-the-art veterinary tools and technologies.
Communicate complex veterinary information clearly and effectively to pet owners, clients, and professional colleagues, while maintaining strong client relationships and meeting professional expectations.
Competencies
Demonstrate leadership and effective management in veterinary practice, including team coordination and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes.
Conduct veterinary research and apply evidence-based practices to enhance animal health and welfare.
Engage in public health initiatives, contribute to preventive care programs, and promote community awareness on issues related to animal health and zoonotic disease prevention.
Apply veterinary knowledge effectively to diagnose and treat a wide range of clinical conditions, addressing diverse real-world challenges.
