29 Apr 2026

The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) is proud to announce its partnership in UPTAKERS, a new Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union. The project harnesses Extended Reality (XR) to modernize higher education across Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia.

About UPTAKERS
UPTAKERS aims to bridge the digital divide between Europe and the Southern Mediterranean by equipping university staff and students with cutting-edge XR skills. Over 36 months, the project will develop new courses, establish XR laboratories, and provide immersive training to boost employability and innovation.

JUST's Role in the Consortium
As a key academic driver in Jordan, JUST holds strategic responsibilities within the UPTAKERS consortium:
•    Co leading Work Package 2 (Quality Assurance & Sustainability): JUST will help ensure high scientific standards, risk management, and a long-term sustainability plan.
•    Major Role in Work Package 3 (Curriculum Development): JUST will contribute to designing innovative XR-based courses that meet academic and labor market needs.
JUST will also serve as a central outreach hub in Jordan, connecting local youth and institutions to the wider Euro-Mediterranean network.

Commitment to Regional Impact
"Participating in UPTAKERS aligns with JUST's mission to foster innovation and sustainable development," said Prof. Fahmi Abu Al-Rub, JUST Project Coordinator. "By co leading quality assurance and shaping the curriculum, we are investing in Jordanian youth and their ability to create tech-driven solutions for regional challenges."
