The Department of Development, Evaluation, and Planning was established to enhance and streamline the strategic planning process, with a primary focus on improving faculty performance. The department consists of two main divisions: The Evaluation and Training Division and the Planning and Information Division.
The Evaluation and Training Division is dedicated to the continuous development of faculty members by offering workshops and training programs on effective teaching methods, scientific research, curriculum design, and evaluation. It regularly collects and analyzes data to assess the achievement of predefined goals, ensuring that they are met effectively and accurately, while measuring the impact of faculty performance on service recipients.
The Planning and Information Division is responsible for strategic planning, helping the university stay ahead of emerging trends, capitalize on opportunities, and address challenges. It plays a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of the university's strategic plan, monitoring progress through performance indicators, and collaborating with colleges, centers, units, and administrative departments. This division also supports decision-making at the university leadership level by providing crucial studies and data related to the various colleges and departments.
Responsibilities of the Evaluation and Training Division:
- Monitoring competency exams
- Addressing complaints and suggestions
- Managing surveys
- Administering the Distinguished Teacher Award
- Tracking student evaluations of courses
- Organizing and conducting faculty training workshops
- Responsibilities of the Planning and Information Division:
- Contributing to the development of strategic and implementation plans
- Overseeing the execution of the strategic plan, linking planning with performance measurement by comparing actual performance against established indicators and targets
- Preparing progress reports on goals, programs, and projects, in collaboration with colleges and units, and submitting quarterly or semi-annual reports with recommendations to senior management to address deviations and challenges
- Supporting academic colleges and administrative units in developing and implementing their strategic plans
- Facilitating data collection and performance indicator tracking for the strategic plans of colleges and units
- Monitoring progress in line with the university's strategic plan, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of academic and administrative accomplishments
