Water Diplomacy Center Launches Training of Trainers (ToT) Program in Amman
Amman, Jordan – December 17, 2024: The Water Diplomacy Center (WDC) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) has launched its first Training of Trainers (ToT) program today, as part of the Blue Peace Middle East 2.0 Capacity Development project. The three-day training, held at the Sheraton Al Nabeel in Amman from December 17-19, brings together 15 professional participants, including WDC staff, representatives from Blue Peace Middle East (BPME), and academics from Jordanian universities.
Led by water diplomacy expert Dr. Ana Elisa Cascão, this program aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality trainings on water diplomacy. The training covers key theoretical and practical aspects, focusing on transboundary water contexts, policy, institutional frameworks, and collaborative strategies in the Middle East.
The ToT series will contribute to building a regional pool of experts capable of advancing water diplomacy, fostering transboundary cooperation, and promoting sustainable water management practices across the BPME countries.
This event marks a significant step in strengthening local and regional capacity to address water challenges, develop tailored training materials, and enhance collaborative approaches to water-related issues in the region.
