E-learning provides a rich, multi-source learning environment and encourages communication among all members of the educational community. It is considered one of the key tools for reinforcing and enhancing various learning approaches. It also contributes to preparing a generation capable of effectively utilizing technology while equipped with the latest skills required in the modern era. Furthermore, successful implementation of e-learning enhances users' knowledge, competencies, and overall efficiency.
Maharat Platform is the first platform (Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)) of its kind among Jordanian universities. It was launched as part of the services provided by the Center of eLearning and Open Educational Resources to serve the community.The Maharat platform offers a wide range of courses in various fields, including medical sciences, engineering, computer science and IT skills, graphic design, and many other disciplines. These courses are designed to develop the skills and competencies required by the labor market. Certificates of participation are awarded for selected courses.
In 2019, the Center of eLearning and Open Educational Resources launched the Open Educational Resources (OER) Repository at the university. The repository includes a diverse collection of educational resources across various academic and research disciplines. These resources are either openly licensed or available with limited restrictions under Creative Commons licenses.The repository provides local and international educational resources for faculty members, students, and the wider community.
The multimedia studio provides professional recording services for educational content using the latest video production technologies, professional cameras, and high-quality audio recording equipment.
The Center for eLearning and Open Educational Resources launched the eLearning Ambassadors Initiative, which aims to train student ambassadors and introduce them to the applications and services provided by the Center. These ambassadors then share this knowledge with their fellow students and provide guidance on the effective use of the university e-learning systems and platforms.In addition, they assist students by helping them understand and effectively use the university's e-learning systems and digital learning platforms.
