Jordan University of Science and Technology launches an online course on Coursera
The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) has launched a Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) entitled "Object-Oriented Development Using C#" on Coursera, a global online learning platform, targeting Arabic speakers.
Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, Director of the Center for E-Learning and Open Education Resources at JUST, declared that this course is the first self-paced course in Jordan and one among few courses offered in the Arab world on the Coursera platform. He also asserted the importance of such courses in the labor market to develop high-quality software.
The Center of E-Learning and Open Educational Resources, in cooperation with Coursera, supported Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, the course instructor, in designing, filming, and editing his course content. Learners can access the course through this link (Coursera.org/just).
It is worth to be mentioned that the Jordan university of science and technology had signed a cooperation agreement with Coursera to produce Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and that it is the first university in the region to obtain this partnership which enables its academic staff to build online courses over Coursera Platform for the Arab region and world. This agreement allows the students, academic and administrative staff in the university, as well as its alumni to use the content it offers on Coursera platform.
