A meeting was held between faculty members and specialists from the Coursera platform at the E-Learning Center and Open Learning Resources
A meeting was held at the Center for E-Learning and Open Learning Resources, which included faculty members who intend to design Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to be presented on the global platform Coursera. The meeting also included instructional design specialists from Coursera.
Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Daoud from the College of Medicine participated in the meeting, where he will design an online course that talks about the topic of immunity for all, and Prof. Dr. Suleiman Al-Olaimat from the College of Pharmacy, where he will design an online course dealing with the subject of drugs and their risks, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Saqar from the College of Pharmacy, where he will design an online course on the topic of gene therapy.
Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, Director of the Center, organized the meeting and introduced the university's agreement with Coursera and the importance of such Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in spreading knowledge and reaching a large segment of learners in line with the university's strategic plan.
Specialists from Coursera (Yan Li and Nora Juraboeva) introduced Coursera, the services it provides, and how to design high-quality online courses. They praised the partnership with Jordan University of Science and Technology and the quality of the course designed by Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, which is about object-oriented programming in C#.
At the end of the meeting, the specialists answered the questions of the faculty members.
