The Jordan University of Science and Technology has achieved a new academic milestone, with its students securing three first places in the Al Hussein Fund Award for Entrepreneurial Projects, in the fields of agriculture and food security, planning and infrastructure, and environmental sustainability – an achievement that reflects the university's students' excellence and leadership in research and innovation.

The University President, Prof. Khaled Al-Salem, emphasized that this achievement embodies the advanced academic and research standards the University has attained, and reflects its students' ability to deliver high-quality, innovative projects that serve the community and address developmental and environmental challenges. Al-Salem added that the university continues to support innovative students and provide an academic environment that fosters creativity, excellence and scientific research, noting that these successes are the result of the efforts of students and faculty members, and are a result of the university's approach to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation and transforming research ideas into projects with a real and sustainable impact.

The university's participation in the award was coordinated by the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, which works to support entrepreneurial ideas and enable students to develop their projects and enhance their presence in local and international forums. First place in the field of agriculture and food security was won by a project entitled “Evaluation of the role of foetal thermal manipulation in the gut microbiome and small intestine integrity during the post-hatching challenge with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)", by student Saif Fayez Hassan Hindam, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Burhan Al-Zaghouli, with the participation of student Rahma Mohammed Al-Dahdaha.

In the field of planning and infrastructure, the project “Darab: The Cultural Crossroads Route', prepared by student Osama Ali Al-Arqan under the supervision of Dr Yasmin Akour, won first place. In the field of environmental sustainability, the project 'Recovery of Valuable Metals from Used Lithium Batteries", by students Mariam Daoud and Lana Al-Balakhi, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Mohammed Salama Al-Harahsheh, also won first place.

This achievement reaffirms the University of Science and Technology's standing as one of the leading academic institutions in supporting innovation and empowering students to develop projects with a sustainable scientific and developmental impact, thereby enhancing its presence and distinction among Jordanian universities.
