Organization of a SolidWorks and 3D Printing Workshop at the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects at the Jordan University of Science and Technology
In collaboration with the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, the IEEE AESS JUST Student Branch at the university organized a workshop titled “SolidWorks and 3D Printing" on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The workshop targeted students from the College of Engineering, aiming to develop their skills in using SolidWorks—one of the leading modern engineering design programs—as well as 3D printing applications using realistic models.
This workshop is part of the Center's ongoing efforts to support leadership and innovation and foster an environment that stimulates creativity and technical development. It achieves this by providing high-quality training programs that meet the demands of the job market, help refine students' skills, and empower them to transform their ideas into innovative applied projects, while also bridging the gap between theoretical engineering and practical experience.
The workshop spanned two sessions during which participants were introduced to the basics of SolidWorks, progressing to advanced applications in engineering design and digital manufacturing. The workshop was led by Obada Al-Salhi, a student from the College of Engineering.
