University of Science and Technology attracts international funding for pioneering projects
Jordan University of Science and Technology has secured European research funding under the EUSEED project (2025–2028), after being officially selected in a competitive call launched by the Jordanian Forum for Youth Innovation in collaboration with the Francophone University Agency, and with support from the European Union through the Interreg NEXT MED program. The project aims to establish and fund university centers for employment and innovation in Jordan and a number of countries in the region, including Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine, to promote applied research, entrepreneurship, innovation, and increase the employability of students and graduates. The winning universities were announced during the annual Jordanian Youth Innovation Forum “Pathways to the Future," where the university was represented by Prof. Mona Abu Dalo, Vice President of the University and Acting Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, and Prof. Wafa Ta'an, Deputy Director of the Center.
University President Prof. Khalid Al-Salem said that attracting international funding reflects the university's advanced standing at the regional and international levels and confirms its ability to compete in European research programs. He pointed out that the EUSEED project is a qualitative addition to the university's efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling students and graduates to acquire practical skills that meet the requirements of the labor market and digital transformation, and enhancing opportunities for networking and cooperation with international academic and research institutions. With this achievement, the university will receive €100,000 in financial support to equip a university center for employment and innovation, implement advanced training and research programs, build the capacities of students and graduates, provide entrepreneurial guidance and incubation, and promote.
