Jordan University of Science and Technology Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Jordan Engineers Association
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Jordan Engineers Association signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance joint cooperation in academic, research, training, and entrepreneurship fields. This agreement falls within the framework of the university's and the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects efforts to provide a supportive environment for creativity in various fields, increase its contribution to the gross domestic product, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The memorandum, signed on behalf of the university by President Professor Khalid El-Salem, in the presence of Professor Muna Abu-Dalo and Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects Professor Muhannad Quwaider, and on behalf of the association by President of the Jordan Engineers Association Engineer Ahmed Samara Alzoubi, aims to enhance cooperation between the university and the association through the implementation of joint projects that serve the local community, in addition to exchanging expertise and information in areas of mutual interest. It also seeks to support engineering, environmental, and development initiatives in our beloved country, and to cooperate in training and qualifying students for the labor market by providing practical training opportunities for university students and supporting startup companies, thus preparing them to enroll in practical training programs and developing their practical skills.
Professor Khalid El-Salem emphasized that this memorandum stems from both parties' belief in the importance of strengthening partnerships between academic and trade union institutions, and their commitment to supporting students and engineers by providing training, scientific, and development opportunities, as well as promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the engineering, scientific research, and technical consulting fields. For his part, Professor Muhannad Quwaider expressed his happiness with this cooperation, emphasizing that the center, in line with the university's vision and mission, will harness its capabilities in the technology business incubator and technical support laboratory to support students and engineers and promote innovation and entrepreneurship, serving the path of engineering progress in Jordan through effective local and international partnerships.
