The Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects organizing a hackathon to use technology to find environmentally friendly solutions
As part of the SAXEED.ECO project, supported by the DAAD and in partnership with Jordan University of Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, the University of Mostaganem in Algeria, and Chemnitz University in Germany, the hackathon for using technology to find environmentally friendly solutions kicked off on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects. The center's director, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider, welcomed the attendees and participating students and gave a brief overview of the hackathon and the services provided by the center. The event was attended by the center's deputy director, Dr. Wafaa Taan; the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Dr. Omar Ghamo; Dr. Nevin Bani Melhem; and Dr. Mashhour Bin Amer from Yarmouk University, in addition to the center's staff. Training workshops will be held for participants on developing a business model, conceptual design, presentation skills and requirements for judging panels, and protecting intellectual property rights. This will enable participants to prepare the best presentations for their ideas before the judging panel. Prizes will also be awarded to the winning teams, along with the possibility of incubation and support for the idea at the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects. Certificates of participation and training will also be provided to hackathon participants.
It is worth noting that the workshops will be presented by Dr. Nevin Bani Melhem and Dr. Saleh Bazzi from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Yarmouk University, and the hackathon will last for three days, from June 23-25/6/2025.
