Key Healthcare Stakeholders Engage in Strategic Dialogue to Elevate Governance and Social Accountability in Jordan's Health Sector.

In a significant milestone for healthcare collaboration, Professor Dr. Ammar Almaaytah, Director of Center for Sustainable Development Studies & Technology-JUST (CSDST) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), recently conducted a pivotal structural dialogue meeting with Professor Dr. Khaldoun Al-Bashaireh, Director of the King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH).

The primary focus of this meeting was to explore avenues of collaboration and deliberate on practical tools and strategies aimed at elevating governance and social accountability within the hospital. The exchange was held within the broader context of ongoing initiatives to fortify governance and social accountability in health institutions across Jordan.

Professor Dr. Almaaytah leads this collaborative effort as part of the second phase of the "Developing Effective Social Accountability Strategies for Better Health Outcomes within Jordan" project. This initiative is integral to the overarching "Enhancing Social Accountability and Empowering Civil Society Institutions to Achieve Good Governance" project, executed in collaboration with راصد الأردن _ RASED Jordan. The project receives co-funding from European Union Delegation in Jordan and AECID Jordan (the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation), under the auspices of the "Nazaha" project.

Discussions during the dialogue centered on augmenting the performance of healthcare institutions and fostering a culture of social accountability. The project's overarching goal is to formulate pragmatic strategies that bolster governance in the hospital, thereby contributing to an enhancement in the quality of medical services provided to individuals.

This collaborative initiative underscores the commitment of both the university and the hospital to fostering community cooperation and optimizing hospital performance for improved health outcomes.
