Training Workshop on "Regulatory Legislations for Small Businesses" at Jordan University of Science and Technology
Irbid, Jordan – January 23, 2025 – Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted a training workshop titled "Regulatory Legislations for Small Businesses", as the second session in a series of workshops under the "Sustainable Solutions for Social Cohesion" project, supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Jordan.
The project, implemented by the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology, in collaboration with Al-Hayat Center – Rased, aims to enhance local skills and promote entrepreneurial initiatives among targeted groups, particularly women in Irbid Governorate, as well as Syrian and Palestinian refugees residing in Jordan.
The workshop was conducted by lawyer and legal expert Mr. Talal Al-Alimat, who provided participants with essential knowledge on establishing small businesses in compliance with Jordanian legal frameworks.
Key topics covered in the workshop included:
- An overview of the legal regulations governing small business establishment
- Requirements and conditions for obtaining business licenses
- Mechanisms for issuing professional licenses
- The role of legislation in regulating employer-worker relationships, including the rights of Syrian workers in the Jordanian labor market
The training series will continue with additional workshops covering various topics aimed at empowering participants to leverage opportunities in the local market and strengthening the role of small businesses in supporting the national economy.
