Training Workshop on "Regulatory Legislation for Small Enterprises" at Jordan University of Science and Technology
Irbid, Jordan – January 19, 2025 – Ms. Islam Al-Tamimi, Director of the Projects Department at the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), inaugurated a specialized training workshop titled "Regulatory Legislation for Small Enterprises" on Sunday. This workshop is the second in a series of training sessions under the "Sustainable Solutions for Community Cohesion" project, which is implemented with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Jordan.
The project, carried out by the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology in collaboration with Al-Hayat Center – Rased, aims to enhance local capacities and foster entrepreneurship among targeted groups, particularly women in Irbid Governorate and Syrian and Palestinian refugees residing in Jordan. The workshop is led by trainer Talal Al-Alimat and is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge on establishing small enterprises in compliance with Jordanian legal regulations.
The workshop covered several critical topics, including an overview of regulatory legislation for establishing small enterprises, the requirements and conditions for licensing, and the mechanisms for obtaining business permits. Additionally, discussions highlighted the importance of legal frameworks in regulating relationships between business owners and workers, including the rights of Syrian workers in the Jordanian labor market.
The training series will continue with additional workshops covering various topics aimed at empowering participants to capitalize on market opportunities and strengthening the role of small enterprises in supporting the national economy.
