Women Empowerment Section
The Women Empowerment Section is one of the specialized sections within the Projects Division at the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. The Section aims to enhance women’s participation and empowerment at the social and economic levels, and to support the integration of gender equality considerations across the development programs and projects implemented by the Center.
The Section is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of targeted projects and programs that focus on empowering women and girls, building their capacities, and enhancing their access to resources and services. These efforts are aligned with national priorities, international commitments, and the Sustainable Development Goals, and are carried out in cooperation with local and international partners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Contributing to the development of project proposals and programs related to women’s empowerment, using rights-based and gender-responsive approaches.
Implementing and managing projects aimed at enhancing women’s economic and social participation, and strengthening their leadership and professional capacities.
Integrating a gender perspective across the Center’s projects and monitoring the application of equality and equal opportunity standards.
Coordinating with government entities, civil society organizations, and international institutions working on women’s issues.
Organizing and implementing training, awareness-raising activities, and specialized workshops targeting women and girls.
Contributing to the preparation of studies, reports, and monitoring and evaluation tools related to women’s empowerment projects.
Supporting the Center’s efforts to adhere to ethical standards, protect beneficiaries, and promote safe and supportive environments for women.
Keeping abreast of emerging trends and best practices in women’s empowerment and integrating them into the Section’s programs and initiatives.
