The philosophy of the Faculty of Nursing stems from JUST mission and is congruent with Jordan's Health, Social and Economic priorities, which aims at improving education of health care practitioners and developing leadership potential in nursing to provide high quality health care for all Jordanians and Non Jordanian at the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Faculty of Nursing membres believe that professional nursing practice

is dynamic, complex, and integral to the health care system. The demonstration of critical thinking, effective communication, and therapeutic nursing interventions are vital in the provision of client-centered care.

Professional nursing practice adheres to an established framework of ethical principles, legal nursing regulations, and standards of practice in order to provide quality, safe and competent care.

We also believe that Professional Nursing Role incorporates research activities, health policies, and clinical leadership in the provision of client care. Thus, lifelong education is crucial to professional growth and development.

The Client is viewed holistically and as a consumer of nursing services. Each person is a unique individual with physiological, spiritual, psychological, socio-cultural, and developmental characteristics. Through interaction with the environment each person is considered to be capable of striving towards health, growth, and self actualization. Health is not merely the absence of disease, but it is the ability of the individual, family, or group to maintain a balance between physiological, psychological, social, and environmental factors to which they are exposed. Health promotion and health promoting behaviors are considered to be of a great importance.

We also believe that health is defined and influenced by the client perception. Nursing is a Health Profession aims at promoting health, preventing diseases and minimizing individual's suffering. The nursing process is a scientific approach that is central to the practice of nursing. Nursing shares responsibility with other disciplines for the promotion of health of individuals, families, and groups through collaboration, coordination, and leadership roles. Nursing care is given to clients in primary, secondary, and tertiary settings.

Learning is considered to be a lifelong process and occurs when there is a change in behavior, attitude or thinking. Teaching involves art and science of structuring content for student learning. The Faculty of Nursing believes that education is a partnership between student and teacher. The Faculty is committed to assisting students to develop skills of critical thinking, problem solving, knowledge synthesis, and nursing behavior, that are responsive to present and emerging health care needs. This will enable students to practice interdependently and independently in multiple health care settings utilizing best practices.
