Aeronautical industry is one of the most growing industries. The establishment of the Aeronautical Engineering (AE) department at JUST aimes at maintaining Jordan's lead in this industry in the region. Aeronautical Engineering encompasses such exciting areas as aircraft design, low and high speed aerodynamics, light weight structures, stability and control of aerospace vehicles, and propulsion system design. The educational objectives of the Aeronautical Engineering (AE) Program at JUST are to produce graduates who: Engage in productive career in industry, military, and academia in the area of AE; advance in responsibility and leadership in public, private, or military sectors in local and regional markets; demonstrate commitment to personal professional development as well as the sustainable development of the society; effectively communicate and function in various multidisciplinary environments and engage in life-long learning and professional development; and understand the ethical, cultural and environmental considerations of the engineering profession.
To achieve these objectives, the AE curriculum with 159 credit hours that can be completed in five years has been designed to meet the local and international markets needs as well as the international accreditation requirements study. It also includes Engineering training over 4 months period that enables the student to apply for the Airframe and Power (A&P) certificate. Thus, the program outcomes of the AE program at JUST include: Applying knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in practice; designing and conducting experiments as well as analyzing and interpret data; designing systems, components, or processes to meet the desired needs; functioning within multidisciplinary teams; identifying, formulating, and solving engineering problems; understanding professional and ethical responsibilities of aeronautical engineers; communicating effectively; obtaining broad knowledge to understand the implications of engineering solutions within global and societal contexts; recognition of the need for, and possess the ability to engage in, lifelong learning; knowledge of contemporary issues; and using the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
