The Faculty Council is chaired by the Dean and includes as members the vice and assistant deans, heads of departments, a representative from each department elected by the faculty members for one year and two members from the local community with experience pertinent to the functions of the faculty appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the dean for a period of one year subject to renewal.

The Faculty Council sets policies and standards regarding curricula, teaching, and research. It also recommends the appointment and promotion of academic staff.
