The Vice President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Mohammad Al-Ebini, received the Chairman of Jordan Engineers Association, Eng. Ahmad Samara and the Committee on Engineering Issues in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Suhail Kiwan.
The two sides discussed ways of cooperation in the fields of training and operation of the newly graduated engineers. They also reviewed the possibility of upgrading the qualification of graduate engineers and practitioners with the capabilities required for a changing labor market by focusing on adapting the outputs of engineering education to the requirements of the labor market and the region.
Moreover, Al-Ebini emphasized on the cooperation between the university and Jordan Engineers Association, pointing out the need to take measures to achieve the recommendations that must be measurable in the labor market at all levels.
From his part, Eng. Ahmed Samara pointed out that the current Association looks forward to improving the relationship between the Association and the University to the highest levels, which are in the interest of the labor market and society. He also praised the university and its achievements for its international classifications, scientific research, and its partnership with the public and the private sector institutions.
At the end of the working day, Prof. Al-Ebini presented proposals to change the methodology of cooperation between the university and the Association. He suggested that it is possible to set up educational factories in association with the "Teaching Factory" in the style of the developed countries, and to hold rehabilitation courses that will end in a cooperation with the Student Training Center for the final stages. He also pointed out that the university wishes to activate forums and lectures, and have the benefit from the experts in various fields through the Jordanian Engineers Association.
