and the University of Zain Al- Abidine in Malaysia

The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Dr. Khalid Al-Salem, met with the delegation of Sultan Zain Al- Abidine University in Malaysia, headed by Dr. Dato Ahmed bin Abdul Latif, President of the University and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed several means of enhancing relations in various fields related to disciplines such as medicine, surgery, dentistry, dental surgery and other specialties available in the two universities, encouraging faculty members to cooperate in the field of research and exchange of visits between students and faculty members of the two universities. Therefore, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two universities in this regard.

Dr. Al-Salem said that the University has about 392 students from Malaysia; most of them are studying medicine and dentistry. He welcomed the expansion of the admission base of Malaysian students at the university. Then, he stressed the University's keenness to extend bridges of cooperation and communication with Malaysian scientific institutions and receiving students from different countries. In addition, the acting president asserts that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a secure and stable country, and it is witnessing democratic development worldwide, making it a destination for science and knowledge due to the scientific development in various fields.

Moreover, Al-Salem presented to the delegation members the plans and the global programs adopted by the medical colleges in the university and its role in providing the local and Arab medical sectors with trained and distinguished cadres, noting that the Malaysian students, who reflect during their presence on the school seats a picture of high ethics and outstanding scientific skills, and that they were and still the best ambassadors in their second country Jordan and they are the center of care and attention by the University administration.

"In Malaysia, we are working to guide our students to study at the University of Science and Technology in Jordan because of its international scientific reputation, particularly in the Malaysian community," said Dr. Dato Ahmad.

The Delegation members commended the high level of the University and its distinguished reputation and the achievements of the University at the local and international levels, expressing the desire to strengthen the cooperation between the two universities.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Suhaili bin Ahmad, Dr. Mustafa bin Mamat, Dr. Fatima Bint Mohammad, Dr. Mohamed Zeid Ben Ismail, the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University, Dr. Burhan El-Din El-Biss, and the Director of the Public Relations and Media Unit, Mr. Rashad Al-Tabari.
