The Prime Minister Visited JUST and Inaugurated the "Renewable Energy" Project and Laid the Foundation Stone for the Veterinary Surgical Hospital
Prime Minister HE Hany al-Mulqi inaugurated on Thursday at Jordan University of Science and Technology the "Renewable Energy" project to generate solar power with a capacity of 5 MW and laying the foundation stone for the Veterinary Surgical Hospital of the University's Veterinary College.This came during HE's visit to JUST where he was received by the University President, Prof. Omar Al Jarrah and a number of officials at the university.
Dr. Al Jarrah gave a brief about these projects, stating that the veterinary Surgical Hospital is the first of its kind in the Arab region and will provide research and training services to students and professors of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the university and will be a medical center to provide advanced veterinary medical services to the community. The total cost of this project is estimated at 4.2 million dinars.
Al-Jarrah explained that the project to generate renewable energy using solar cells with a capacity of 5 megawatts will provide 20 percent of the needs of the university 2.5 million dinars annually, "at a cost of about 4.3 million dinars
Dr. Al jarrah said that the university has submitted a tender for the generation of electricity using solar cells with a capacity of 25 megawatts, which will cover all the university's needs of electricity, which is estimated at 10 million annually.
The two projects are funded by a generous grant from the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi Fund for Development).
