The Department of Network Engineering and Security at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology was founded in 2009 to fulfill the growing market need for network engineering and security specialists, whether administrators, programmers, analysts, or support staff.
The department offers a bachelor program in Network Engineering and Security based on a modern five-year curriculum that provides a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the areas of network engineering and security. The bachelor degree is awarded after successful completion of 160 credit hours.
The program aims at producing highly-skillful network and security engineers that are capable of pursuing careers related to the design, development, maintenance, and security of the wired and wireless computer networking hardware and software. In addition, the graduates will be qualified to acquire internationally recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA, CCNA-Security, and CCNA-Wireless) and Microsoft Certified Network Administrator (MCNA).
The department has a number of highly-qualified faculty members specialized in a broad range of areas in the field of computer networking such as Network Security, Wireless Networking, Multimedia Networking, Network Programming, and Network Administration.
