The Faculty of Science and Arts was established by a decree from the Council of Higher Education in January 26, 1987. It commenced its duties as of September 1, 1987. 

ACADEMIC  PROGRAMS AND DEGREES:

The Faculty offers several applied programs, which aim at graduating competitive, efficient, and well-trained graduates in several fields. Those programs were designed to be sufficient flexible to allow specialization in many areas, and to be responsive to the needs of the industrial and commercial sectors. 

FACULTY STAFF:

The Faculty staff includes a number of highly qualified Professors, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professors specialized in various fields of basic sciences and humanities. A number of lecturers and teaching assistants also participate actively in the teaching process. They are supported by a number of qualified technicians and administrators. At the beginning of the academic year 2006/2007 the numbers of the academic staff and supporting staff were as follows:

SCHOLARSHIPS:

 

The Faculty is keen, since its establishment, to build and augment its teaching staff by recruiting young and ambitious teaching assistants for scholarships to the American, British, and Canadian Universities to obtain Ph.D. degrees in different fields of specialization.
