Highlights

 

The Faculty of Nursing 

  • Established in 1983 with only 2 faculty members  and 23 students.
  • Currently consists of 27 PhD, and 35 Masters prepared faculty members placed in the four departments  of the faculty (Adult Health, Maternal Child Health,Community and Adminstration & Midwifery ). This body is supported by BSN qualified clinical trainers.
  • Have 1500 undergraduate nursing students, 110 graduate studentsin addition to 90 midwifery students.


 

 

 

 

 

  • Provides teaching/ learning opportunities that include technology-equipped classrooms, nursing skills labs, and a 70-units computer lab. Clinical experiences are conducted in a variety of clinical health care agencies in Jordan.
  • Is concerned with the development of human resources, improvement of nursing education programs, and delivery of evidence-based nursing services to individuals, families and the community.

 

  • Has four departments: Adult Health, Community Health, Maternal-Child Health, and Midwifery, all of which carry out administrative and teaching/learning  responsibilities.  
  • Has been designated as a WHO–collaborating centre  since 1997.
  • Was accredited by AUCC and CIDA, Canada: in 1998.
  • Have effectively contributed to the development of nursing education and health services in Jordan and the region through a large number of educational and training projects funded by WHO, The European Union, (TEMPUS), and The Italian Government .
  • Have achieved a national, regional and international reputation for the excellent performance of it's graduates.
  • Consistently  ranked first  in the the Nursing National Competency Exam.
