The Department of Pharmacology was established in the Faculty of Medicine of Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1988. The Department is responsible for covering numerous courses in various fields of basic pharmacology, therapeutics, and toxicology for various biomedical disciplines in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and applied medical sciences. The covered courses includes under graduate and graduate levels. The majority of courses are covered in a comprehensive and integrative fashion in collaboration with various basic and clinical medical sciences.

The department staff members are involved in various research activities in the fields of basic pharmacology, therapeutics, and toxicology. Some of the staff members are in involved in supervising and monitoring clinical studies dealing comparative bioavailability studies and research investigation involving therapeutic investigations.
