The objective of our program is to prepare physicians for the autonomous practice of clinical neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry. The training is based on supervised and progressively graduated clinical work with outpatients and inpatients. The medical students and resident physicians form part of a health care delivery team by actively participating in the clinical management of the patient and meeting the learning needs of the more junior residents and medical students.

The program requires its residents to obtain competencies in the following areas:

  • The clinical practice of neurosciences
  • The theoretical basis of clinical practice
  • Diagnostic tests relating to neurosciences
  • Teaching and communication skills
  • Basic research techniques
  • Professional ethics
  • Socioeconomic issues relating to practice
