The objectives of the Nuclear Engineering Department are:

1. To educate students in the fundamental subjects necessary for a career in nuclear engineering
2. To educate students in the basics of nuclear technology, radiation measurement, and nuclear reactors.
3. To educate students in the methodology of nuclear power plants design. 
4. To train students in the basics of instrumentation use, laboratory techniques, and data acquisition, interpretation and analysis. 
5. To prepare students for advanced education in nuclear engineering and other related fields.
