The BME program at JUST was granted accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET effective October 1, 2007. The BME program at JUST is the first non-USA university program to be evaluated and accredited by the EAC of ABET.

ABET is among the most recognized accreditation organizations in the U.S. and has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 77 years.

Accreditation is a voluntary, peer-review and periodic process that ensure educational quality. The evaluations, conducted by teams of volunteer professionals from industry, government, academia and private practice within the ABET disciplines, focus on students, program educational objectives, program outcomes, continuous improvement, program curricula, faculty, facilities, university support, and program criteria. It is an assurance that a program meets established quality standards.
