The School of Applied Medical Sciences (AMS) at Jordan University of Science and Technology is pleased to welcome you. Now in its 10th year of operation, the School is proud of the many accomplishments of its faculty, staff and students. Our faculty has earned a national and international reputation and we have a strong international student and faculty exchange programs. The faculty is deeply committed to educating outstanding students to become skilled caregivers and leaders in their fields who will, in turn, change the lives of the patients and families they serve in our local and national communities. In the school of AMS, we provide teaching and learning for a range of health service careers. The School has three departments namely Department of Allied Medical Sciences, Department of Medical laboratory Technology, and Department of Allied Dental Sciences. Our school has over 40 members of academic staff who provide education and training for our students, and a majority of staff are also engaged in research and scholarly activity in a range of areas mainly related to their professional roles.

In the Department of Allied Medical Sciences, we offer programs in seven disciplines of health professions. These bachelor degree programs include Physiotherapy, Optometry, Radiologic Technology, Speech Therapy, Audiology, Paramedics, and Occupational Therapy. In this department, we foster critical thinking skills and strive to teach you how to provide a well-thought out and researched analysis of assessment and treatment methods. Through this dynamic interplay, you’ll learn how caring and compassionate leaders can use their skills to make their communities a better place.

The history of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences goes back to 1986 with the Establishment of Jordan University of Science and Technology, where the department was hosted by The Faculty of Medicine. Now, there are more than 600 students enrolled in the undergraduate and graduate programs in this department enhancing the quality and reputation of higher education in the country through cooperation with other institutions of higher learning and well recognized hospitals to promote quality standards and the adoption of best practices in learning and clinical practice in the field of clinical laboratory technology.

Our Allied Dental Sciences programs prepare the student for work as a valuable member of the dental health care team and for diverse career opportunities. In order to expose students to the most modern equipment and advanced treatment techniques, the department became highly equipped with the updated dental technology to meet the challenges in these health professions. Our department of Allied Dental Sciences offers two programs in Allied Dental Sciences and Dental Technology. Moreover, this department is providing preventive, educational and therapeutic services to the public.

Our programs adopt innovative educational approaches where students are the center of all educational activities.
