The clinical biochemistry laboratory is located in M3 L-1. This lab is equipped with a wide range of equipment that students require during the practical component of their course work. The courses given in this laboratory are: Clinical biochemistry I, Clinical biochemistry II, Diagnostic Immunology and Serology, and Biochemistry.
During these courses, students will undergo full review of the theoretical aspects of each laboratory session followed by practical implementation of the required skills. Students' work undergoes supervision by the laboratory instructor. Assessment of students' comprehension of the skills is performed at each laboratory session and periodically using exams and analysis/identification of unknown samples (blood, urine, synovial fluid, etc.).
Some of the equipment available in the clinical biochemistry lab are: blood and urine centrifuges, spectrophotometers, ELISA readers, fluorometers, shakers, vortexes, refrigerators, freezers, electrophoresis devices, tabletop centrifuges, water baths, balances, and adjustable pipettes of all required sizes.
