Upon completion of a B.Sc. degree, students are expected to:


1. Acquire basic knowledge of crop production management needed to optimize production of major economic crops grown in Jordan.
2. Learn the basic principles of plant biology to understand plants responses to the surrounding environment.
3. Gain knowledge of the different aspects of plant production operations including: land preparation using farm machinery, irrigation techniques, fertilization, pests management, harvesting and post harvest handling, and marketing of agricultural produce.
4. Learn the principles of forage crops production management and their interaction with the environment.
5. Gain basic skills in plant propagation, training and pruning methods used in fruit trees production.
6. Learn the basis of farm management in the most economic and profitable way and be able to take the right decisions related to farm operations.
7. Learn the scientific bases of plant breeding and genetics needed for crop improvement and understand the most important elements of a breeding program.
8. Gain basic skills in landscape management and ornamental crops production.
9. Be capable of handling different types of farm machinery used in farming operations and understand the scientific knowledge related to farm operations such as tillage, application of fertilizers and pesticides, and harvesting equipments.
10. Understand the behavioral aspects of plant pests and pathogens and learn the different strategies and tactics employed in pest management.
11. Learn the principles of seed production and technology, the basic skills to conduct seed quality tests and the main steps in seed production and certification programs.
12. Gain basic skills in beneficial insects' management such as apiculture, pollinating insects, predators and parasitoids.
13. Gain skills in agricultural extension necessary to disseminate new scientific approaches in crop production and management to farmers and stakeholders in Jordan.
