The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at JUST was established in 1990. The objectives of the founding institution were to improve animal health and productivity by rather focusing our efforts on increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of animal production. The Faculty have become since then a hallmark for innovative research and consultative center, in addition to its fundamental functions of providing high standard veterinary clinical education to graduate and undergraduate students and companionate veterinary care to our animal patients.
Our Faculty members are highly trained professionals in all aspects of Veterinary Medicine. They have graduated from the most prestigious Veterinary Schools in the USA and Europe.
The Faculty encourages innovative scientific research and discovery in all fields that lead to advancement of human understanding of animal disease and disease prevention. Research emphasis has been placed on improving animal health and productivity in an environment that promote the highest standards of animal welfare. Highly standard animal scientific research is conducted under the supervision of our Faculty and specialized staff in the Animal House which is managed by the Faculty and in the Animal Health Center.
The Faculty holds the Veterinary Health Center (VHC) in Campus. The center serves to provide passionate and high quality veterinary care to a wide range of animal species; domestic and wild including birds.
The Faculty is very active in serving its local community and in collaborating with local, regional and international partners. The Faculty is proud to have become a member of the European Associations of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and is working toward EAEVE full accreditation by the year 2016. The Faculty signed several MOA with distinguished universities in USA and Europe.
Nationally, the Faculty provides clinical and consultative services to the Royal Stables, SPANA, and Humane Animal Health Center in Amman. Students have the opportunity to spend valuable training externships in these locations all year around.
