I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the dental teaching centre at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Irbid, Jordan. The dental centre is located in a nice area nearby Prince Al Hasan Stadium, in Irbid city.  The main goal of this centre is to provide all facilities required for training undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, dental hygienists and dental technicians. Upon their graduation, dentists from different countries are trained in the centre as part of their internship before they get licensed to practice dentistry on their own. The centre is committed to research by means of offering the dental staff an access to facilities and archives in order to help them undertake advanced dental research projects. In addition, continuing education courses are provided on a regular basis.

I am priviledged as I have witnessed the dramatic development of this centre. In its early years, the centre hosted about 10 dental students per day. Currently, the centre gives educational services to about 700 dental undergraduate and postgraduate students per day as well as to students of allied dental sciences. The centre has a fully equipped dental laboratory; and an up to date  X-ray department and sterilisation section.

The dental students provide dental treatment to  the local community as part of their clinical training courses. However, specialized dental treatment against an appropriate fee is also provided to some patients by consultants with outstanding qualifications. In accordance with agreements between JUST and others, employees of the government, Jordan University of Science and Technology and Al albayt University receive specialized dental treatment.

Needless to say that this institution is regarded as a centre of excllence of the dental profession in the country. Every possible effort is always made to keep the standards of our dental services compatible and parallell to those of international ones.
